June is Detox Month at The Nourished Life

Detoxification: it's everywhere. In a pill, in a beverage, in a book (or a gallon of lemonade with flecks of cayenne pepper floating at the top). Detoxification claims are abundant, but where are the real answers?

This month I want to dig deep and try to find some genuine information instead of the regular hype. So no, I won't be looking in a bottle of pills. I want to know how detoxification really works and how we can facilitate it naturally. And that answer doesn't fit in a bottle of processed, encapsulated nonsense.

This month we're going to delve into:

  • How does the body detox?
  • Simple, effective ways to detoxify that don't cost an arm and a leg.
  • Natural ways to eliminate toxic heavy metals from our bodies.
  • Gut health and its connection to detoxification.
  • Common cleanses and detox systems: do they really work?
  • Dangerous toxins present in almost everyone's house right now (but you don't know it).
  • Which foods are most important to buy organic.
  • Plus more...

I don't know about you but this is pretty exciting for me. I've done plenty of personal research on the subject of detoxification but I look forward to spending a month really cracking down on this one. I'm not going to be selling you goofy lemon juice and maple syrup kits, I promise. But we'll talk more later about why I think that stuff is a load of--ahem--hooey.

The Detox Book: How to Detoxify Your Body to Improve Your Health, Stop Disease, and Reverse Aging, 2nd EditionI'll keep this month's reading material right on par with the theme, too. I'm going to spend some time with The Detox Book: How to Detoxify Your Body to Improve Your Health, Stop Disease, and Reverse Aging by Bruce Fife (yes, the coconut guru himself). This one has some rave reviews, and supposedly Fife covers the subject pretty thoroughly, so I'm hoping we'll find some pertinent information hidden under this odd cover design that reminds me of the kind of art that graced one too many 80's punk band albums.

Now it's your turn: have any burning questions about detoxing? Ask them now, and I'll do what I can to answer them this month!
